How we built the new player

The team rebuilt the watch flow on Video.js with a custom chrome inspired by reference cinema players. Subtitles, multi-quality, audio tracks, picture-in-picture, Chromecast, AirPlay — all stayed.

What changed: the engine. Faster initial load, real HLS, native fullscreen, and keyboard shortcuts that match every other media app you use.
